@jorintelis. Has anybody asked why pressure is not put on African governments to sort out their hunger crisis, which is mostly caused by war? And I’m an African.

Now that the shuttle is been retired. I guess no more ETS will go up. Better to make a space station at of Bigelow modules.

I heard that it would cost $10,000 or something for the Hotel or something. If its $10,000 per night well thats really cheap for 3 days I can stay there and use the money for space instead of buying a new car…

only billionaires can afford to travel to space, space company’s, public & private, have spent billions to make the space trip cheaper, until they come up with something drastic me and other average Joe’s will just have to watch from the sidelines :l

i hope we use the same space suits like the shuttle astronauts wear, that would be awesome

are they a large enough market to make a dent in the debt we now own? liberals, dems, hollywood elite,n.easterner must start to realize and (accept) it ? and understand how serious of a threat it is to THEM AS WELL AS THE POOR! NO MATTER WHO’S FAULT. MR.BUSH COULD HAVE DONE MORE YES & OBAMA MUST STOP THINKING TAX W/ FIX THIS, TAX SHOULD NOT BE TOUCH,THESE ARE THE PEOPLE WHO HIRE AND BUILDING BUSSINESS. IT’S THE SOCIALIST IDEA TO TAKE! WHEN INNOVATION ISTHE AMERICA WAY (stop fighting each other)

I wonder where they’ll get the spent fuel tanks seeing as how the shuttle program is over now.

I’ve looked into it a little. Space Island group is barely a real company. Nice video though.

I will make the first recreational Space Travel company, 20-30 years from now when I accumulate enough money from tourism.

Most communist in the developed world I mean, sorry. There are a few tiny countries that have higher rates of government spending.

  15. Cyrus255

    10. Aug, 2011

@EpiDemic117 Over 50% of US GDP is government spending.

This means the USA is over 50% central planned. That being the definition of Communism, then the USA is over 50% communist by definition. The US has the HIGHEST corporate tax rate in the developed world, has twice as high of an income tax as China, and then has state taxes to top it off.

So unfortunately for you, the USA is the MOST communist country in the world right now (China is capitalist-in-denial).

    Dear All,

I have some questions about psychology:

    (1) Why do we love space travel?

    (2) Why do we want to have a space holiday?

    (3) Why do we enjoy to stay at a space hotel?

    (4) What will be your best entainments in a space hotel resort?

    (5) What will be your favorite food in the space hotel?

TAHNK YOU IN ADVANCE for your creative ideas and brainstorm!!! :)

@GreatExterminator ever hear of the Venture Star? That’s what we NEED to continue funding in order to make space economical. But before the shitty bush administration floored that project. We need to reopen it! it’s a crew carrying vehicle that Doesn’t require any stage separations. And has a new innovative heat shield (unlike the shuttles traditional tile system) This thing can land like an orbiter BUT in a matter of DAYS like 2 or 1 it can be refueled and relaunched.

  18. EpiDemic117

    10. Aug, 2011

@Cyrus255 the US isn’t a fucking communist state MORON! hahah no way you couldn’t be trolling right now!

  19. EpiDemic117

    10. Aug, 2011

@chickensupdude that is actually a great idea! first we need to find ways to cut costs in terms of launching a vehicle into low earth orbit. So far the only way we see it is expending TONS of energy. traditional rocket engines shown in this vid simply won’t work in terms of practicality. What we need is a linear aerospike engine.

    10. Aug, 2011

well, they’re not going to be using the shuttle, thats for sure!

  21. DOSU344

    10. Aug, 2011

@Cyrus255 We humans are so ignorants, we spent so much money on shit. We spent millions for nothing, only for our selfs. It has been my live dream to travel to space and now only the rich can. 20 million for 7 days in space, i would pay it. BUt i dont have that money, imagine that. A space station hotel for all types of people, 900 dollars a day. With pools, tv, internet ect. Just like a hotel, so many people would love to travel and Nasa will gain lots of money from it. But no, money for oil.

  22. jag9998

    10. Aug, 2011

Enough with the stations already! Put some freakin’ warp cores on that shit!

  23. Cyrus255

    10. Aug, 2011

@chickensupdude Too bad “we” will probably be bankrupt and left behind. But I’d be quite optimistic for the Chinese — a culture that actually values hard work and produces, instead of spending all day trying to become actors/artists/directors,etc.

No, no, for Americans space will soon be far too expensive. Heck, NASA might have to be cut to make way for the welfare state. Glad I moved to capitalist China (20% of GDP is govt spending) from Communist USA (50% of GDP is govt spending).

  24. cappermeh

    10. Aug, 2011

u know in 5 years the space shuttle would be only in museums. It is way to expensive with space shuttles.

  25. GreatExterminator

    10. Aug, 2011

    @Omega3chimp
Actually, this plan does invovle using current hardware, like the shuttle’s ET and liquid boosters.
The Delta Clipper is current the transport vessel, but they are looking at a future use of a simplified version of the space shuttle. From another video on this, Space Island’s shuttle would do what NASA’s shuttle was dreamt of doing.

    10. Aug, 2011

you should use a streamer to stabilize the payload platform,
like surveyors tape or caution tape.

  35. EyeintheSkys

    10. Aug, 2011

What did you use to inflate it? Where did you get it?

  36. chaosopher23

    10. Aug, 2011

@benwl I suppose if the balloon could be sheathed in a silk bag and a pressure-sensitive valve fitted to the neck of the balloon, it would go higher and not pop so soon.

  37. nickrohn93

    10. Aug, 2011

I wonder who was lucky enough to “retrieve” this balloon for you?

Would it be possible if my ashes were sent into space?

  48. benwl

    10. Aug, 2011

@thevdogamr It always pops…the latex is not strong enough to hold in any pressure against vacuum. As the balloon rises, the air pressure falls off towards vacuum.

  49. thevdogamr

    10. Aug, 2011

What Happens if it never pops?
